This is more of a product review than a blog. My neighbors have a pitbull mix and two chihuahuas that are extremely barky. They also bark at all hours of the day and night. My neighbor previously had a third chihuahua that was more barky than the other three put together. I complained about the most barky dog to the neighbor lady and that poor little dog was never seen again. I didn't have the heart to ask what happened to it. Rather than make one of the other dogs disappear (they're all rescue…

Well after getting over my migraine and waking up Tuesday morning to find a sick Basil and a mess all over the place - I took the day off to recoup.
After a nap and keeping an eye on Basil throughout the day I felt good enough to go to agility that evening. A new 8 week course was beginning and it has been 2-3 months since Bernie and I have done anything.
There were a few new dogs in my class and a few old friends. An aussie in the class was particularly enamored with…

OK, I was walking Butter the other day and yet another nickname for Butter "popped" into my head. "Poppet" I was pretty sure it meant a small child and googled it and yes, it is a British term of endearment for small children or little ones. Also, more remarkeably, it is a name of a beach in Cardigan,Wales. Well...what could be more of a delightful lovename for my Cardian Welsh Baby.
I have already started teaching it to him. I say "Come, Poppet" with a British accent and he comes.…

So today Lance and I took a short walk before I had to go to work. We came back and sat on the front porch for a little while and down the block is a lady pushing a wheel chair. Lance was watching the whole time. He started to bark and I told him to settle down and he did. They get to our house and Lance so badly wants to go say hello, so I got up and tried to have him walk to them, but he wanted no part of that. He dragged me to the new people and very politely said hello, not barking once.…

Wally got his draining tube and stitches removed which means he's all better and collar free! His wound is healing very neatly and Dr. Beltran said he could go back to regular activity which is wonderful news. Wally's been able to play with the big dogs at daycare again so he's having a blast. My only concern now is that he's been behaving badly on his walks. He keeps tugging so hard that he chokes himself and continues to keep pulling and choking. When I stop he stops beside me but as soon as…

Tigger got the all clear for normal activity levels on Friday--- so that means HELLO, TRAINER!
While Tigger as under HW lockdown, I decided to get a trainer to help me deal with Tigger's dog aggression. I think that Molly probably fed some of that aggression, but due to his lack of socialization he had his own issues I need to deal with. But I also knew that it had to be dealt with the minute he got an all clear- and it didn't happen a moment too soon: Last Friday, as we were paying our…

Barely.
Ike hit our area around 3 am on Sagturday morning, this is also the time we lost power. Poor Jack was just a nervous wreck. He couldn't sleep with all the wind howling, and us looking at each other and muttering "Oh my God.." at every noise. At one point, I slept in the bathroom with Jack just to make him more comfortable, it just made me into a decent chew thing. He decided that hiding behind the toilet is a good thing, so now he stays in the bathroom, no matter who goes in…

Well, Friday night/Saturday morning Ike hit us like a ton of bricks. The house sustained minimal damage. Some leaks that we'll get fixed soon. Some fences down. We were lucky
Didi was actually very calm during the storm. She watched us with a somewhat increased vigilance and didn't sleep through the entire thing, but she was calm. More calm than we were at times.
We didn't have power from 8pm Friday night to 3am Monday morning. We only stayed at home Saturday and Saturday night. She…

The last week has been quite busy for Madog. He has learnt all sorts of useful new survival techniques.
He has learnt to hunt and caught his first giant cockroach. It was a fair fight but for a while there I had my money on the cockroach. I guess his natural killer instinct overwhelmed the insect in the end. I like living in the south but dang they have big bugs down here.
He doesn't want to go back to nature all the time so has mastered the rollie ball. And loves it. He…

Poor Ofelia got spayed today. I brought her back from the vet a few hours ago, gave her some pain medication and laid down with her for a little while. Poor thing seems like she's in a lot of discomfort. She can barely even walk. She's doing very well, though. She's a real trooper. A good bit of whimpering, but not a lot of crying. They said she was really milking it at the vet's before I picked her up. She also got the last of her puppy vaccines, her rabies shot, and an ID microchip. So it was…

The city of Brighton had a parade yesterday. I have no idea why, but we went down to see it because I love marching bands. We left Cam at home. Well, Lo and behold, what do we see walking towards us???
Another tri-colored corgi.
Camber lost her coveted "Only Tri in the neighborhood" crown to Ralph.
Ralph is a handsome little guy. Only 6 months. His coloring was beautiful. Where Camber is dark fur, Ralph is all tawny. Mo and I had fantasies about how darn cute…

My Gibson is 11 weeks today! He's getting so big..I swear he goes in his crate at night and comes out a different puppy :) And he's looking...chunkier? Is this normal for growing puppies? Everyone is commenting on what a chunk he is (maybe because he waddles), but I know I do not overfeed. The area around his neck especially, but I think that might be normal for a corgi? In any case, he's adorable. I'm seriously excited to see how he will look when he's an adult. I know a lot of people want…

I am going to be moving out on my own soon and my sweet Callie will be joining me. I am really nervous on how she is going to take it. She is 4 months old and 10lbs (she's small I know!) and she has gotten used to living with 4 people, 3 cats, a rabbit, and a chinchilla. Now we are going to live in an apartment with just us 5 hours away. I'm moving because of school and there is no way I could leave my baby behind. Not only because I'd miss her but she is so attached to me.
She has been an…

That when your precious corgi does something wrong.. you blame your spouse/significant other...
like this morning.. I was awakened by my husband going "are you kidding?" I grumble.. "did he poop?" "No" "did he pee" "no"
At this I sit up in bed a little bit grumbling about waking up before 8 on my only day completely off. Matt comes in and says, "Owen chewed on your brown flats." I knew I had left them on the floor but not in an area Owen has free reign. And up until now…

I bought my husband another Corgi for his birthday!
She is 5 months old.
I don't have a name for her yet, but we're about to go out to dinner to talk about it and make a decision :)
Will post pics soon!

I never got a chance to take riley to the beach in his 8 1/2 years that we have lived in florida so I thought it was about time! Unfortunatly i forgot my camera card so i have no photos only my memory that sucked! Riley was afraid of the waves like I figured and he barked at them and had fun playin in the sand. He is still hanging in there so we are doing good!

Well as you know it has been quite rainy, its nice to see the grass getting some water but enough is enough. Lance doesnt like going on wet grass he puts on the brakes, all paws are glued to the cement!! Eventually I will get him to go into the wet grass but he is very picky what section of the wet grass he will go on??? What a funny dog! He will go out into the rain to pee if he really has to go but anything other than that he just rather hold for better weather or just go inside! Lately with…

So yesterday was the day. I brought home my little princess! It was really the best day of my entire life. It was my last day of school so after class i packed up and my boyfriend came and picked me up and we went to SFO to pick up little Harlly. Then they told us she was being taken to cargo, so we had to drive there. The people there said come back in an hour, she should be her by then! We were super anxious at this point. We saw another couple outside the cargo hold with there new dog. it…

So I thought Gibson was an allstar at crate training..but yesterday I started smelling pee when I was sitting on the floor next to his crate, and today it was really bad and he stunk of pee! So I decide to investigate his crate and there it is under his bedding, a nice wet spot...and after pulling out his bedding I notice a huge stain on the bottom of it! Ugh! He does not cry or whine at all when he's in there. It's a very small crate too, I even thought be too small. Why does he think it's ok…
