Chloe chases the cat Kudos. I am so tired of it. She mounts the cat. Kudos the cat does not have front claws. The "leave it" command is sometimes helpful, but at times not. Does anyone have recommendations on how to deal with this?

Nora - this shy dog - has been making so much progress since I brought her home. But there are always those little things you can't control which I had mentioned in my first blog post.
We were just finishing up our walk this morning. We were on the sidewalk and Nora was on my left and oncoming traffic was to my right. Suddenly a runner came up behind us and went to pass us on the left - Nora's side. She got spooked and jumped out into the street as a car was approaching.…

My husband and I just returned from a vacation at 4 Paws Kingdom in North Carolina.
I recommend this place to anyone interested in vacationing with their dogs in NC.

My dog has the loudest bark ever for such a little dog. I've been able to tolerate it, but sometimes he gets in a barking fit where every little thing sets him off. It gets kind of annoying after a while, usually after the 15th time of me sternly telling him to stop, he gets it.
My main problem is going to be…

After seeing all of the past and recent dog food recalls I am considering making homemade food for Chase. I have been feeding Chase Blue Buffalo Freedom, which has not been recalled recently. However, I don't think I could feed Chase kibble with confidence anymore. I have not seen where and how this food is made and I honestly believe that no one cares about Chase's health more than I do, so why shouldn't I be directly responsible for feeding him CLEAN, HEALTHY food?
I have been doing a…

so i've been thinking about names for a while, and ultimately i want something unique that not many people have. lately, i've been throwing around the name Ravioli. this is partly because i love eating ravioli and secondly because i think it's cute. i've gotten about a 50-50 response on who likes it and who doesn't. however, 2 of the most important people in my life, my best friend and boyfriend, don't like it! i know it's ultimately my decision because it is my dog and i can name him…

I am getting the purple Dyson vac as a graduation present--it's getting delivered to my apartment on March 14. I have never been so excited about a cleaning product.

So last night, on Valentine's Day, Wyatt's daddy proposed marriage to Wyatt's mommy in the most adorable way. Wyatt's daddy asked mommy to wait in the bedroom, and when she came out, Wyatt was politely sitting and wearing his collar with a beautiful engagement ring attached to it. After Wyatt's mommy said yes, his daddy slipped the ring on her finger. They're both very grateful to their fur baby for helping to make such a special moment so unique and heartwarming.

We adopted a rescue several months back. Things have been going really well. The only issued we have now, is Bud eating too fast.
He scarfs his food so quickly that he regularly begins to choke. He often won’t wait to stop chocking before he resume eating. ARG!
I began researching slow down bowls. Most of the reviews said that they worked great until the dog figured out how to tip the bowl and dump out the food.
I began to think of alternatives. At first I…

Here are the top dogs in the news for 2011. No Corgis, but interesting nonetheless! They are all very good story, but I like the bionic pup the best. What is your favorite on or off the list for 2011?
Happy Birthday baby!
I got him some of his favorite treats from Three Dog Bakery to share with his BFF's Flintstone and Roxy!…

I have to share this product with you guys! I believe it was a huge factor to my girl's quick recovery from an dog attack that landed her in ICU for 2 days and in a cone and rest for 3 weeks. With Kahlan being 4 months I thought that it was about time she checked out the dog park. So we picked up Aspen my 'pocket' Siberian Husky and headed over. I was sort of nervous about her meeting other dogs but Aspen loves everyone. And of course Aspen dove in sniffing and getting to know her new sister. To my surprise Kahlan was not shy and all over Aspen. I wish I snapped a shot of it but it was so funny and cute. Aspen was in the back seat and Kahlan in the front seat facing backwards…

A few days ago Roslyn wa
s playing with Oona and let out a huge yelp and hid. I checked her out thinking she probably got snagged by a tooth or something, but didn't find any marks. Since then she had been limping a bit, and very snippy with the other dogs. She has been super clingy to me and distant to everyone else.
I figured she had pulled a muscle or something as there was nothing external and she wasn't having any other symptoms beside being grumpy and clingy.

And what a year it was! I am so in love with this little doggy! She truly is our "first born!" Ha!
I remember when we found out about her hopping and we were trying to decide if we wanted to bring her home. We didn't have to think too long and decided to bring home a dog with a "disability." Now, I often wonder what her life would be like if we hadn't taken her - or if she would be alive. But the better question is what would our lives be without HER!…

It was corgi day at Balboa Park yesterday! We're in a heat wave (90 degree temps) but despite the heat we had a wonderful time!
First we spent about 40 minutes playing in a big beautiful fenced park:
they had a blast chasing that yellow soccer ball around!

Al doesn't even have his C.D. or C.G.C., but he did me proud Saturday and passed his PP.T.!
I'd been waiting, worrying, and preparing for the Porcupine Test for years. By passing it, he saved our most notable exploit to date (more on that elsewhere). I'm told porcupine quills are air-filled, so if you cut them, they become easier to extract.
