New medicine...

Well, its been two days now since we got a new antibiotic for Luna. She had a slight upper respiratory infection when I first got her, and at the inital vet check they put her on doxycycline (sp?). She felt horrible on it. She didn't want to eat, or play. She got a sick a couple of times so I called the vet this past tuesday and they put her on amoxcyilin that tastes like bananas. Now she's back to being the normal "evil" corgi that she is. Playing like mad and eating… Continue

Yet another new puppy video! Almost home

I had to miss the puppy visit for work reasons so I could be off when I bring him home. Thats a bummer, but at least I was sent this new video! 9 more days and he comes to his new home!

He's the "James's puppy called CheeseCake", I actually named him Cheez-it though, need to update that with the breeder incase it goes on any paperwork. What an eater he is, barely takes a second to breathe! Puppys first dry food.

Snip Snip 2Weeks

Rolo will be getting fixed in 2 weeks.
I really hope it will make him more docile and calm down a bit.
I also hope it will ease the tension between him and Sadie .
She currently shys away from him when the 2 are loose in the kitchen.
She growls when he starts to sniff a bit too long at her butt.
I just wish they would get along .

No Lectures...Please!

Ok, here goes. I'm scared to death to even ask this question for fear of the lectures and "shame on you" that I'm going to get but... have any of you ever used a shock collar to help teach the "Come" command? Sadie is great at "Come" in the house, at the office and outside on a 6 foot leash or even off leash near the house when I'm fairly close by. But when we get into the big open yard or walking down the driveway ( I live in the country so there is plenty of room to run) she seems to forget… Continue

Spot fetish?

I was looking through puppyfind.com because I like looking at all the cute little puppies. It's where I found Zephyr, so I know that some people on there are honest. I found… Continue

Any puppies from the Circle K Ranch in NC?

Rolo is from the Circle K Ranch in North Carolina and he had six other littermates from Kimbers October 3, 2007 litter (The Blue Jean Group), and I'm just curious... are any of his brothers or sisters on MyCorgi.com??

Dudley at Nationals!

I didn't realize it had been so long since I posted a blog update! My, my we've been busy. We jumped into agility training with 2 feet and 4 paws! Dudley is doing great. His instructor sometimes says that he's "already read the agility book". I think he's been watching Taffy so long that he already has the concept and really wants to participate so he just dives right in! We did have a bit of a setback last week though. He was trying out the big teeter for the first time. We put chairs under… Continue

Post this low (very low) on the refrigerator door!

My sister sent this to me; I thought it was perfect!

To be posted VERY LOW on the refrigerator door - pet nose height.

Dear Dogs:

The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the… Continue

yay winnie

Winnie finally is making progress with the stay command it has been a frustrating few months, especially with puppy class as all the other pups were more that happy to stay. They only thing is that because I can't treat during the stay (she breaks either at the break command or at the offering of food) i worry that i am treating and praising the break not the stay. We will continue to work on this nightly and maybe i can start treating the stay as she gets better.

Other than that the… Continue

New member of the family

Hi everyone,

I know that I haven't been on MyCorgi for a few weeks but that's because I recently added a new addition to my family. No, it's not another Corgi but a BABY! I am happy to announce the arrival of my first baby, Cameron Jonathan Bergloff! He was born on Feb 15 and was 9 lbs, 3 oz and 22 inches (big baby!). We're all doing great and Pancake gets along with him really well! I was worried at first but the pups have really taken a shine to him. Pancake loves to sleep by him (on the… Continue

Overdue post!

The past month or so has been frantically busy with me trying to get my ex situated in a nursing home-no success yet. And kid stuff never ends.

We also now have two new black kitties. One is a female age 10, the other a male, age 3. Jake was less then thrilled at suddenly being the youngest in the house, so he let me know in no uncertain terms by digging holes in the yard. I have yet to actually catch him at it, in order to discipline him. The female kitty has made herself known to… Continue

First Training Class

Yesterday Roscoe and I went to PetSmart for our first training class. The trainer is a lady named Rita, who seems really enthusiastic and in love with her job. There are 5 pups in the class total, two labs, a 7-month old Beagle (who might not be back, I think she was just auditing the class to see how her dog would do), and another gorgeous dog who's breed I don't know, but he was gray and black, shaggy and very pretty. The first class is a lot of talking, with the trainer explaining how the… Continue

We have puppy!!!

I wrote in the past that we were awaiting news of a new puppy. Well, as of yesterday we have a new puppy and named her Daisy. A Corgi/dachshund mix, we think. We rescued her from a shelter. She is very sweet and cuddly and we are so excited to have a new little one in the family. Duke really likes her and wants to play with her, but Daisy is still not quite sure what to think of him. She is very submissive and won't really play with him too much right now. I am hoping they will become good… Continue

Picked a new puppy

I had gone over to the breeder and picked out a puppy a week ago, but the poor little guy is having a lot of problems. He hasn't been gaining weight, and has recently started to lose weight. The vet told the breeder to feed him every couple of hours and he may have a small chance. The breeder was very professional and put the other tri color puppy in the litter on hold until I came to see him, and was honest with me about the other little guy. I decided to go with the healthy puppy and the… Continue

Saturday's Adventure - Layla's first post

Hey everyone! This is Layla the puppy and I just have to tell you about the exciting adventure Hunter and I got to go on yesterday! Mommy and Daddy put us in the car. It was the first time we went in the car without the crate. We sat in the backseat with Mommy holding us to make sure we didn't go flying around. She rolled the window down, and it was kind of scary, but kind of fun! We stopped at PetsMart where Daddy bought this round plastic thing, and then it was back in the car for a few more… Continue

Brought New Pup Home Today

I just wanted to share! We brought our new boy home today! He is 11 weeks old and I can't believe how big he is already. I haven't weighed him yet, but I'd never seen a corgi pup in real life and I was so surprise at how big he is already! I'll post pictures later on because I have a huge paper due on Tuesday! (Not the best time to bring a new pup home, but I don't think there is ever a good time!). Fortunately, right now...knock on wood...he is an angel! So good!! We named him Grover, by the… Continue

Is it possible to get a 'Daily Digest' of postings in my email box?

Hi!

I'm here with Court on a cooling evening after low 80's weather!

We got an evaluation so to speak at the SPCA on how I can

work with Court on basic commands as well as giving more

opportunities to exercise.

SO: I have not been on this site because it has been a busy time,

but also, if I would get some daily connection to the site/group,

I would view it more, learn more, maybe post more...

IS it possible to get daily Emails from… Continue

We made it!

Well, after months of anticipating our move from Northern Virginia to Northern California, we have finally arrived. Micha really didn't like the plane ride, but she was very good. Word of advice: when travelling via air with dogs, I highly recommend having a big bottle of water on hand for when you pick up your dog. Micha drank almost a litre of water upon landing. She even refused food in favor of water! That was a first :-) It's probably not so bad on shorter flights, but longer flights are… Continue

Experiences adding 2nd corgi??

Hi everyone,

I was hoping to get some anecdotal advice on adding a second corgi. I've been wanting one for months now, and have been waiting for the right time (seriously, is there one?!?!). Anyway, if you've got two dogs, how did the transition from one to two go? Any suggestions?

I expect things to be pretty easy, since Junebug (2 yo F) is good with other dogs and I work hard to keep everyone behaving well! Do you think getting a male or female would make much… Continue
