So, I've had my Daisy for three years now since I rescued her from Sac. animal shelter.
And over the years, she's had a lot of fun visiting the neighbor's backyards, taking her own walks, and generally scaring the hell out of me every time I noticed the was gone. Then I would panic and bicycle around till I found her. Thankfully, I always did except for…Continue
Whats a good bed for the create?
So Watson is 6 months and still is lots of fun! He is a little too enthusiastic when greeting people but we are working on it. He is much better about seeing other dogs at least he doesn't always bark now. He had his first professional nail dremeling today and cried like a baby while gulping down treats.( I am a big chicken and have just been trimming the nails with clippers while showing him the dremel). He loves to lick everybody and doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body. It appears…Continue
He has a subcutaneous lipoma low on his side. For those who don't know what they are, they are a fatty growth that is common to older dogs. These are not cancer. Normally they stay small and don't need to be removed...I think just about all my older dogs have had them. The one Max has is low on his side and it grew quickly and large, about the size of a softball. The vet said she can close her fingers almost completely on the inside of the growth which means it's not attached to…Continue
It looks like my husband and I, along with our two corgis will be moving in the next month to Louisville KY. We're both excited, but anxious about moving into an apartment with our corgis (Louisville is an expensive place compared to where we are now)! We're not worried about our Lola moving there and being OK with an apartment, but we're concerned about Hank. He's just a puppy, and likes to talk, but I'm worried about how that talking will affect our neighbors. We take him for lots of walks…Continue
Well Teddy(my 11 year old rescue) and Tank at some point decided to leave the area. Teddy does not do this and being almost completely deaf I panicked. Took Wynn with me and started walking the fields near our place. Partway through I thought about calling the people who live at our other place and the lady said "so that's whose dogs these are" I was so relieved...she said…Continue
So yesterday morning we woke up bright and early and headed off to our first dock diving trial! This one was hosted by NADD/AKC. We were a little surprised to show up and see a TON of Golden Retrievers (their club decided to come together), two labs, one German Shepherd, and NO "little" dogs. No matter, everyone was very welcoming and loved that a Corgi came to dock dive. We got in line to do our practice jumps-- Tucker flew off the dock no problem with plenty of…Continue
...that Ruby is not a purebred corgi?
This morning when I took Ruby in to get her stitches out, I finally extracted a certificate of spaying from the vet's office -- they had my old address and had mailed a copy there. When I came to light long enough to scan it and send it to Lindsay, I noticed that they had described her as a "Corgi cross."
Called and said she's a purebred, and they said they'd send out another form. But...hm. It's easy to see why a…Continue
I am looking at our little pup, Hazel. He is 4.5 months going on 5 months next week and weights about 20lbs. I do not have the measurements for his mom and dad but mom is definitely a bigger corgi and dad is medium sized. I've included some photos below for reference. The reason for my post is I am concerned with his growth rate. Is he growing too quickly for the breed? If he is, what stress is being put on his little joints that could lead to spine and joint problems including hip dysplasia…Continue
I would like to connect up with people who have siblings of my corgi.
He is a blue merle Cardi, born on April 7, 2013, and purchased from Pynne
Wood Cardigans, in Minnesota, from Laura Johnson. Any sibs out there?

Pippin is my first Corgi & his brother, Archie was my first dog less than a year ago, so I'm kind of new to having a dog.
Pippin just turned 9 months, but hes always been so paranoid. If me or my husband make a sudden move at him he will run away. Or if I climb on the counter (I'm very short lol) he will bark as if he wants me to get down. He doesn't like it if I climb on chairs either. We've had him since he was 8 weeks old, so I don't think he was every…Continue
I've seen a lot of topics on this site that are not the happiest (that's life I guess). Just in case any corgi owners needed a nice pick me up, here is a video of Napolean doing some tricks ^ ^ Remember to stay pawsitive and be happy with the corgi you have! We also hope to inspire many other corgi owners to teach their corgis tricks as well! Trick training (through positive reinforcement) builds a stronger bond plus it's really fun :D
Okay, I challenge ANYONE to name one critter -- other than a two-year-old -- that can complicate your life MORE THAN A PUPPY CAN!
So, it's along about 4 p.m. Hotter than a three-dollar cookstove outside and passing warm here inside the Funny Farm, with the AC set at 80 and struggling to hold the temp in the back of the house at around 82. Cassie and Ruby are crapped out on the cool tile floor. I've been working like a stevedore all day and am thinking...ahhh...a late siesta!…Continue
So something that I never knew before getting my corgi, is that they are barkers! And for the first 8 months or so of owning him, it never crossed my mind in the fact my boy Chubbs barely barked at all.
Well that sure took a sharp turn when we moved into an apartment with 2 more canines -ones that like to bark at every sound they hear in the hallway and every knock on the door (though this is for their owners benefit somewhat in that she is deaf so the jump up barking and run to the…Continue
While not Corgwn related, I had to share this with everyone. It's a families last day with their furbaby.
Having just lost Ein, this was doubly touching for me. The Onion Ninja's totally won as well.
My Goodbye <----- clicky
Cassie has been moping about all day (though just now she remembered that the Purpose of Ball is to keep the human busy. Constantly). Luz the Cleaning Lady…Continue
So like every 2-3 months McCoy tear the hell out of something when I leave. Its not like me leaving is something new, and I am never gone long. I have anywhere from 2-4 Drs. appointments a week for various things. Then I usually come right home, and its been like this since I have adopted him. 90% of the time he is fine and just sleeps, but the other 10% he tears the carpet, tries to chew through the gate, chews the linoleum, etc. I'm not leaving any differently than I do any other…Continue
Boris is about two years old we live in DC and this summer have noticed a little chafing under his front underarms. the first time we noticed we called the vet and they said to apply a little neosporeun to it, which seemed to help. We recently left him with our friends for the weekend and noticed that it has come back a little worse. To make a long story short is there anyone else who has noticed chafing or experienced this with their corgi before? what did they use as…Continue
From time to time Tucker has tummy troubles. I'm preparing packets of chicken and rice that I can freeze for when he does have problems. My question is: how much to put in each packet?
He usually eats between 1/2 and 2 cups of kibble (Taste of the Wild) every day (he isn't a consistent eater) offered twice a day. He gets 1 green bean per feeding (he doesn't need to watch his weight). He gets a fish oil capsule at night along with his medications for his leg (long story) which are…Continue
Tucker has always taken a liking to water, despite the fact that he really can't swim very well. This spring we went for our first dock diving class, where he showed up a bunch of weenie labs by bravely jumping off the dock and into the deep unknown. I took him today to another class where he showed great enthusiasm for the "game"! And so, we are going to enter our first dock diving trial in two weeks-- wish…Continue
