I have been meaning to blog this whole time. So many mile markers. I feel almost guilty I haven't as mycorgi is hugely at fault for the obsessive corgi disorder leading into the tailed pem passion. Anyway.
Arrow is the best. I am certainly biased but everyone else I know tells me this too. He is EXACTLY the dog I was looking for. Loves to hike and run and play but is so gentle and social and trainable. With the little dogs he bounces and barks and dashes and the big dogs he…

Murray HATES being combed and sheds the most of any Corgi we've had. Even with lots of treats and threats it was a chore that I didn't do nearly often enough ( if there is such a thing with a Corgi ). About a month ago a light bulb went off. I started with a relatively well groomed Corgi and now keep his comb on the counter right by where I feed him. Before each meal I run the comb through him for maybe 30-60 seconds and then give him his food. He quickly figured out that he has to hold…

Okay, it's prob'ly too early to worry about this.
Last week, M'hijito boarded his ridiculously overbred Golden Retriever, Charley, at my house because he had the doggywobbles.
This was attributed to his having eaten a paper towel whilst counter-surfing. (Please...do NOT get me started!). Since said G.R. showed no serious signs of doggy diarrhea (maybe a little loose u-no-whats but no galloping urgency), I figured the kid was right about the paper-towel…

What can I say about kids? Kids are cute, loud, loud, did I say cute already? I like kids, I do, but not the kind that pulls my ears and takes all my toys away. This one kid that my mom babysits comes over all the time. He has the grayest eyes. They are really pretty. When he comes over we play chase and run. Most of the time I'm the one running. He's only caught me twice. I escape by running at super speeds and also my mom chases him and puts him down for a nap. I love it when he goes to…

Saturday the Corgis and I ran our first 5k. It was for a local food bank, so I paid entry fee for both of them so they could get their own numbers. We came in 51st out of about a 100!! We came in 4th in my age group!! Time was 36.48!! They did well and had a great time!!…

I recently read a post about a tug toy that you set up outside on a flexible pole. Now I can't find the blog. Does anyone remember who posted that. Thinking of getting one for Bolte since his very favorite game is playing tug.

My little Maromi is a blackheaded tri, and I love him to death but I was curious if he was a mismark. When I saw pictures of his parents and they were both blackheadded tris with very little tan on them. As he is getting older I realized he doesn't have tan eyebrows x] although both of his parents did. Was just wondering if this was a mismark in the breed or not?
I really don't care about his coloring as long as he stays my happy and healthy pup:] Was just curious because I have never…

My husband and I are planning a 9,000 mile expedition around the USA. Pretty much off-road camping in all different National parks. I was wondering if anyone has done this before and could you give us any advice? Also the type of camping we are doing is overlanding where you rely on your vehicle. If you have done this before what modifications did you do to your vehicle to accommodate your dogs?

Hi All,
I found on line last week a slow feeder bowl for Oscar it is truly amazing and worked the first time I gave him his dry food in it and later on with his wet food!. I now can rest easy when he eats now as he used to bolt his food down to the point it was as if he was choking!. Paul and I did everything to try and prevent this from happening. I worried as every time it happened Oscar would go into a choking fit and as now he is 11 I was worried it would all be a strain on his…

For new/experienced dog owners who want to try new things for their dog, but don't always have time to go out to the store and get them presents and stuff, I highly recommend BarkBox. We started Dodger on them back in September of last year and he absolutely loves them! His recent BarkBox he's gotten, he got a squeaky football toy and he refuses to part with it. It's adorable! Plus, 10% of the profit goes towards dog rescues. It's the perfect doggy care package for your…

So, as we all know, the winter can be brutal on your corgi's paws. The bitterly cold snow, the rock salt, and the rough and icy surfaces that seem to come up everywhere on walks. With all the snow showering down on us in Westchester, Bella's been working extra hard to maneuver her short stocky body through the 1-2 feet of snow. However, I've calmed down knowing we have a secret weapon against the coldness. Musher's…

Well, as the infamous groundhog predicted, we have 6 more weeks of this cold bitter winter. As I type this, Westchester County NY has about 8 inches coming down. Bella is ecstatic about the snow, but me, not so much. Here are some tips to keep your corgi, and/or other dogs, safe in this snowy weather. (Some of these depend on the temperature of your area and how cold it…
