Family Reunion:)

Shortly after Bella left for her new home I received another email from someone who had a rehomed pup of mine. Their friends had just lost their elderly corgi and they were looking for another one. Since Livvy should have always been the only Queen in her…

Sometimes I have no idea what I am doing....

So I was using Reddit.com and posting under their subreddit /r/dogtraining, but I noticed that people on reddit, in the year and a half that I have been using it are growing twice as uppity about dogs and dog training like they know everything.

My recent run in was with my troubles I've been having keeping McCoy from bothering the cats. They kept accusing me of not spending enough time with him, not playing with him or exercising him enough. That corgis are so high energy that you…

No news

Ein continues to do well, except for his poopoo butt for the last day.

He thinks he's starving because of the prednisone, so as to not starve to death, he ate the cat food.... thus the runs.

We will be going to the corgi walk tomorrow (Saturday) at Green Lake, so if any of you are there. Look for us! I will be wearing my Thorgi shirt. :p

Dawg in a Tight Spot!

What next, Lord?

My son's 90-pound dog, Charley the Golden Retriever, is passing a week at my house while Son vacations in Puget Sound. This is fine, by and large, because Pup and Charley play like puppies (they are puppies...Charley at two is still an addledescent), and Cassie I'm sure is relieved to have Charley here to distract Ruby from her usual pestering activities.

Last night Ruby, who has graduated to sleeping on the bed with Cassie, woke up at 3:30 in…

Fallen RCMP officers June 4, 2014

Although this is not about Corgis, it's something I want to share with everyone.

The reason I was able to walk Wally during the time the city was closed shows the amount of trust we have towards our brothers and sisters who everyday put their lives on the line to make the cities the way we know them.     They have families of their own and even though the ultimate sacrifice is something possible, it's a event no one hopes for.

Although, in some of us, it is something they dwell…

Pup Doing MUCH Better; Auditions as Watchdog

So now several days -- a whole bunch of days -- have passed without ANY puddles on the floor! It's a miracle.

Presumably Ruby's UTI has cleared up pretty much. She's still on the prescription diet, so not getting (IMHO) the nutrition one would like, but I think when we finish the current crateful of cans, we'll probably transition over to real food. Still adding 1/4 cup of water to each of her three meals a day, which may also be helping. And I expect I'll keep on…

Terrible news...

Today, I was faced with a very tough decision. I know I did the right thing, but it was one of the most difficult choice I've ever had to make. I had to take Kyoko to the vet to have her put down. This morning she was sick, and didn't respond to my calling. When she finally got up, she stumbled along and was breathing heavy. I sat with her for a while, watching her continue to hold her head up, as her eyes grew heavy. I knew I couldn't let her stay this way. I knew what I had to do, no…

Back for now..

It's been a long time since I've been on here. So much has happened in my life since I first added this account. Isshi was recently spayed. The procedure went well, aside from the anesthetic not agreeing with her. Basically, she didn't waking up as soon as they expected her to. Then when she finally came to, she wasn't responding as she should. I had a sleepless night worried about her. But late the next day, I was able to take her home without any further problems. Other then she now has to…

Event coming up that we will be at for sure.

So Ruby and I are hitting up the Midwest Corgi Picnic and Ruby is going to compete! We're also going out with a hiking group on Sunday, Pet Pride on Monday, and then dog scouts the following week. I need to be more social and having Ruby is allowing me to do that. Also, its good for her socialization.

Is anybody else here going to any of these events in Indy? If so, don't be afraid to say hi!

Beach Day

So we finally got to go to the beach again, one of Ziggy and I's favorite spots! We had a great day and I got a lot of awesome pictures of the Zigster! It still amazes me that he gets so spunky when he's on the sand!…

Vet Report II

So another inspection of dog pee, now that Ruby has been off the antibiotic for some days, revealed NO crystals(!), no white blood cells, and no bacteria. Dr. Bracken said he did see a few red blood cells, but he thinks that could be an aftermath that should dissipate in the near future. He doesn't want to prescribe another round of antibiotics, because he's pretty sure the thing is…

The Dog That Peed Lake Michigan on the Kitchen Floor!

LOL! Okay, this is all my fault. And it's not funny, but what the heck...it struck me as hilarious.

We're in the office watching reruns of Desperate Housewives on the giant iMac and cackling away at a particularly funny episode. Time to knock it off, though, and go to bed, so it's "Back to Browse" for Netflix and "Sleep" for the computer and soon, I imagine, "sleep" for the human and the dawgs. We trot out to the kitchen to let the pooches out for a final policing of…

Attitude!

Ein continues to do well for the most part.

He's been battling an eye infection for the past two weeks though. He first cut his cornea some how, which has healed, but now has conjunctivitis in both eyes. The right one being the worse. We were told this is due to the sinus infection he had pushing mucus up into his eyes through the tear duct. He does get this green gunky stuff in his eyes that reminds me of nose mucus! Pretty gross actually. So he's been on clavamox to help…

Pup's First Mile+ Doggy Walk!

As dawn cracked, it was OUT THE DOOR with Cassie and Ruby lashed up at the ends of our weird new double-doggy leash. Although we've been doing short doggy walks around the block, this was Ruby's first mile-long expedition.

Actually, it's more like a mile and a half: the house is a quarter-mile from the park, and the park is exactly one mile around, as measured…

How Do You Train Your Dog to Get Out in a Fire?

So I'm sitting outside on the back porch working on some stuff for one of the graphic designers, a little project that goes on and on and on and.... The house's doors are closed, because it's warm and the AC is on. I hear a beeping noise. An insistent beeping noise.

The neighbor has a truck that beeps like that. Beep beep beep freaking BEEP. It takes awhile before I realize whatever the racket is, it's not the dude's accursed truck. So I get up to investigate and lo! The house…

New Updates....

I've been gone a while, a long while..so here is the short long of it.

Tala- She grew up, grew up fast and hard in a working house hold. Around 4K worth of plaster, dry wall and stud's later I'd worked out she was miserable. So the adoption process began, she found a great home with 7 kids on a rather large farm. I do visit that crazy mutt from time to time, amazing she still remembers me (the inseparable bond that is).

Jazmin- She also is 5 now, no longer the small…

Watson and Izzy update

Well miracles do happen! I thought I knew dogs but Izzy has surprised me. She plays regularly with Watson. It took a while for him to wear her down but he did and it is so cute to have two playing dogs again. Watson is a great puppy, very goofy and cuddly. He does well in puppy class but is learning (slowly) not to be such a big…
