Hot Spots?

Angel had a hot spot last summer and had to get it shaved and get medicine from the vet. I'm pretty sure Holly has one now and will be taking her to the vet tomorrow. Does anyone know what really causes hot spots??

Origami Corgi!!

I found the cutest origami animal online today!! It's a corgi!!! On the tail, you can just tuck it inside or make it shorter depending on your corgi.

I also found a dollar bill origami corgi as well, but I haven't been able to find instructions on…

Almost there!

Went to the vet :P and had to fight off the two doctors and receptionists who were molesting fitz!  Hahaha...I think I realize now what my friend meant when she said that she never knew any of her neighborhood dog owner names but just referred to them as "Pepper's mommy" or "Fluffy's dad" XD

He's such a playboy!!! Always trying to make the new people he meets fall in love with him :)  In some ways I'm really glad that he's a friendly and sociable dog.  I think i'll try to see if I…

We want Tank:)

Sage, my grandson and I went to meet Tank this evening. He is a big boy but Sage let him know very nicely that she would be the one calling the shots and he was respected this. Tank got along well with all of us and is a very gentle BIG boy.I think he will love having several acres to run and play in plus other dogs to keep him company. His foster was impressed at how nicely… Continue

Fergie and Baron's Batallion Litter of 10!! (safe to view..all sold)

Fergie amazes me, she is my smallest most refined little girl and her first litter she has 10 puppies and she cares for them all on her own. Most litters that size need supplementing but I got lucky. Layla had her litter almost 2 weeks after Fergies and we ran into some issues and starting losing Layla's pups so Fergie being the trooper she is allowed Layla's 5 pups to nurse on her. The first picture I will add is Fergie napping while Layla's pups nurse...the rest are all Fergie's puppies at 3… Continue

Bone head vet

Sorry to rant but I found this ridculous. A few months back Molly had a bout of diarrhea that was pretty bad. I was afraid of her dehydrating and took her to an emergency vet. The vet gave her a few shots and some meds.  She proceeded to tell me Molly was extreamly over weight. The current pic of her is what she looks like still.  She has a waist and no tummy blubber.  She is also kind of muscley from running after the cat all day and playing with us.  She is taller than her mama and she weighs… Continue

Barkin' Beach Bash - and we've finally found new kibble!

On Saturday, Sidney and I walked in the San Diego Humane Society's "Barkin' Beach Bash" with Team Low Rider II.

The original Low Rider team that Sidney and I captain is for the Escondido Humane Society, which is in a smaller town in northern San Diego County. The event we went to Saturday is for the Humane Society for San Diego County. Both Team Low Riders are made up of San Diego Corgi meetup members - how cool is that?

I was not captain for Team Low Rider II, so I…

Preparing the Apartment

Well, we've made arrangements with Barb of Evanwhit, and two Fridays from now, Ani will be coming home with us. (We're going to call her ~Anathema Device after the character from Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's book Good Omens, but Ani will be her short name.)

Naturally we've been reading up on all the things we're supposed to do and get, like puppy proofing the house, how to house break a puppy, the vaccinations, the license, the food, the kennel, the shampoos, the leads…

And now there are 3 - CORGIS!

Just rescued/adopted 2 wonderful pembrokes - the momma is turning 4 and has some serious lower back/rump injuries...the previous owner did finally take her to a vet and they removed lots of dead skin due to infection and maggots (YUCK)...my vet is now doing cold lazer therapy and I swear after 1 treatment her skin/sores look so much better.  I am to do water therapy at home with flushes of warm water 5…

My Obsession with Eye Boogers...

I cannot stand for my dogs to have eye boogers, it seriously drives me crazy!

Today, I'm getting some eye boogers off of Bear and of course I poke him right in the eye.

Here's to tonight's prayers that I didn't do any damage. :(

He seems fine right now, but I'll feel better once I check him in the morning and see nothing.

Usually they clean them off of each other, which I greatly appreciate, but Goldy seems to have been…

And then there were 2

Hi,

Sorry been gone a good while, been busy with a 10 week old fur ball. It's not a corgi so don't know whom will reply if any however the good news.

Jazmin and Tala ( The new puppy) get along beautifully, actually better then I'd ever dreamed of. I think Jazmin has taken on the puppy as her own. They spend endless hours chewing on each other and of course is the transitive learning as well . Jazmin loves the interaction and the play only as a dog can provide, finally I've a…

Carpet Scratching?

I recently adopted a 6 year old Male CWC.  Recently, he will walk over to a peice of carpet I have in the kitchen and scratch at it.  He won't lay down after, so it does'nt seem like he is fluffing the carpet.  Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Mother's Day Bailey Adventures

Well, it has been a very busy Mother's Day weekend.  Saturday was a Mother's Day barbecue at my sister's house with about 20 people including 5 children.  Therefore, Bailey was left at home (crated) for the afternoon.  I am a highly overprotective corgi daddy.  Not only do I want a group kids ranging from 3 to 9 trampling my dog (the younger bunch become oblivious to the squatty puppy under their feet) but I also want to avoid the kids getting scratched or nipped by a playful corgi puppy who…

Good Boy!!!

So I was running late for an important meeting and HAD to get in the shower.  I always crate Johann when I'm in the shower- but I just didn't have time.  He was sitting in the hall chewing on a toy or shoe... It didn't matter to me I just had to get going.

About seven minutes later, I emerged from the bathroom and he was gone.  Not in the hall. I ran downstairs thinking he may be in the kitchen trying to get to the cat food. Not there either.  The doors were locked- he…

corgi playtime

my corgis have one of those balls you put treats in and then they push it around and the treats fall out. whenever one of them has it the other is afraid to try to steal it away... or they'll get growled at. haha. it is entertaining to watch. they need to learn how to share!

An Evening At Evanwhit

So we called up Barb Evans of Evanwhit and arranged to see the last puppy of Jenny's litter. (Here's a neat tidbit: Puppies were born the day after my birthday! How awesome is that.) Anyway, the little girl is an absolute sweetheart and of course, John just fell in love with her right away. We couldn't make any promises right then and there though, because part of this expedition was to see how my allergies handled it.

The good news is that my lungs handled it like champions.…
