Dog Yoga

It is hard to say "no" to a dog who wants to play, but when I really don't want to be disturbed, I put the proffered ball on the piano. Al gets the message. Eventually.

Diet Questions: or AHHHH! Help! Ever since someone posted that gross video of what goes into dog/cat food I have been so upset about what i am feeding my poor babies!

So years ago when I got my first cat my vet recommended Nutro cat food. She told me it was high quality and cheaper than other foods like science diet and such. Seeing as this is what my kitten had been eating already and I liked the sound of a high quality food (I buy only Oxbow products for my bunny because of quality), i thought it was a great investment into my kittens future.

Fast forward a few year

I finally got the dog I had been dreaming of since i graduated from… Continue

They say pets often look like their owners

I bleached my hair the other night in preparation for dyeing it a pinkish-purple color. Because my hair is very dark, the bleach doesn't turn it blonde, but instead a nice shade of red-gold. I never actually got around to dyeing it pinkish, and this gold color is really growing on me. It dawned on me as I was looking for corgi pics today that I'm a tricolor person! Lol. White, blackish, and red-gold. I'm also a low rider at 5'1"... short dogs for short people. If I had a triguy right now, I'd… Continue

need a little help

Wynstan is really good except for one thing, he bites the crap out of jeans and hands. I know he is just a puppy, and I have only had him for four days, but I am worried that it will only get worse. I just want to take care of it so it won't become a problem when he is older.

any suggestions?

Cute cardi up for adoption in Michigan

I was browsing the ads on Petfinder, noticing how many cute corgi mixes need homes, when i came across this wonderful little Cardigan Corgi puppy!

The first thought i had was to post his on MyCorgi so that the wonderful people here might have a chance at adopting him.

As we all know corgis are little spitfires and if they go to a home that is not prepared for their personality, they are often sent back to the shelter.

I hope that he can find a forever home with an experienced dog… Continue

So Thankful for MyCorgi.com

I met a woman, her daughter and their 3 month old australian shepherd mix at the park today. The dog came up to me and I asked to pet it mostly because Owen has been at my parents house since we moved because we are still in temporary housing. So other peoples dogs are amazing. Good thing I run right by the dog park!

Anyway she had that look of overwhelmedness as I walked by and we just chatted for a bit and I worked a bit with her dog. Gave advice, etc. She was so thankful. I tried… Continue

Advantage horrid smell

I switched Shiro from Frontline to Advantage because it was way cheaper and many people said it's better. Has anyone noticed that horrid and nauseating smell it has? I couldn't go near my dog for the first 2 days and it's still lingering. Also it only works for a couple weeks, then he gets fleas anyways. It's so annoying, isn't it supposed to protect for a month?

I do not apply it until 2 days after bath, and don't wash him for at least a week after, so I don't know what's going on. Maybe… Continue

Giving dogs table food

My husband is totally against giving the dog any table food. Lately, I've been giving Max our leftovers or what falls on the floor. I just don't like to see if go to waste. Does anyone think this is a bad idea? He's already starting to not eat his food so i don't give him a lot of table food. I'm just looking for some opinions.

Hey guys. I haven't been on here is quite a while but I felt the need to update how my doggies are doing.

So to start off last friday was Trevors second Rally competition. There were 16 dogs in the class. We were in Novice B. And guess what HE WON!!! This is the his second competiotion and this is his SECOND win. Thats right he won both. The other class was only out of three. Caleb 11/30/09

Well, Caleb has grown so much. We got him at about five pounds, he's now about 14. He's also nearly completely housebroken. I only say nearly because he is still so young (a bit over 4 months) and I'm not going to saddle him with my expectations of being 'perfect'.

He was previously still doing very well. He could be left with run of the kitchen for hours with no accidents during the day, but somehow, for awhile he got it in his mind that it was 'ok' to wee and poo in the kitchen over… Continue

Just catching up

It has been a long time since I have had a computer working properly enough to really do much on here except check in and see what everyone is doing. Sorry for those of you I used to chat with more, wasn't trying to be rude but haven't had internet service since this summer so have been either bouncing off other peoples wireless (bad I know) or only been able to use my phone which is very limited on what I can do.

Let's see quick update on everyone......

KC is still Queen of the… Continue

Looking for a corgi in colorado, south eastern wyoming, or nebraska

Hello everyone!

I am looking to add to my family and bring another corgi into my life. I am posting this blog on my corgi, because I have such a hard time looking on craigslist and other classified ads, because I feel sorry for all the other dogs and want to take them all home! I am hoping that I will be able to find one though the great folks on mycorgi. So if anyone knows of any inexpensive corgis in colorado or wyoming...maybe even parts of nebraska, please let me know!

JD's Health

Hello every one,

Im just letting you all know whats going on with JD, he had to be rushed to Des Moines on saturday morning. His immune-system started attacking the red blood cells last Saturday. (The red blood count is suppose to be at a 32% and he was at a 6% when we got him in.) We took him to our normal vet in Pella, He thought that he had gotten a hold of something or ate something that he shouldnt have (he has done that before to). So we went all week with him just laying… Continue

Oppy's 1st Birthday

Today is Oppy's 1st birthday! It's amazing to see how far he's come since we first picked him up at 10 weeks old. He's getting a special doggie cake and a new bone later tonight. Unfortunately it'll be dark by the time both of us get home, so we can't take him to a park or anything (he had tons of excitement over the long weekend though and was totally crapped out last night when we finally got home). Hurray for getting… Continue

What was that?!?

Yumi follows me EVERYWHERE I go, even if it's just to the next room. She hates being out of my sight and will whimper and whine unless she knows I'm gone in the car. This being said, Yumi followed me to the bathroom this morning. As I'm finishing up my morning business, I happen to glance down at her just as she lets out a tiny little fart! Now, I've never actually HEARD a dog fart before, it's usually an SBD (silent but deadly), lol, so this was already funny enough for me as the fart she let… Continue
