Sometimes I wonder if Griff is really a Cardigan.
He has the tail, for one, and the slightly larger body size and longer legs. And how about those front legs that bow around his body? But his ears point to the contrary, as they're even smaller than a normal Pembroke's and slightly pointy. And the tail is easily the result of a no-dock Humane Society policy.
But his pesonality puzzles me, too. Characteristic of all Pembrokes, he's amazingly friendly to people he knows.…

Jake totally slept in today with the rain and lightening. I don't think he even noticed. He is rather antsy, of course, but the weather has not be conducive to a good walk.
But, he is a very busy Corgi nonetheless. Up and down the stairs in search of the quintessential place to hide one's cheewie! I noticed he has not been really chewing on the rawhide, rather he carries them lovingly from place to place and then attempts to hide them.
I am going to try and bake some dog…

Hello fellow corgi-lovers!
A little bit about myself, my name is Therese, treez for short, and I absolutely am in love with the corgi breed! Born and raised in California, I’ve been spoiled with the warm southern California sun! I joined mycorgi in hopes to get some personal insight on raising corgis and just observing how the breed behaves.
In short, I am living vicariously through all of you!
I hope to get a lot of interesting facts and tidbits about…

winnie is losing teeth like crazy... which means she isn't eating her kibble as ferociously. We think she has also had a cold because she was sneezing and snorting a bunch. Needless to say my baby was a bit more subdued this weekend.
We (after reading about other's use of it) invested in a furminator and it worked great. we had been brushing winnie at least once a day with little effect. now it is 4 days later and her coat is still looking great with minimal…

We have only 11 days until we pick up the newest member of our little family. I just got new pictures from our breeder and thought I should share with anyone who needs a little dose of "cute" to make it through the day!

He's so adorable he makes my heart hurt a little (I'm sure every corgi owner can relate!). We've decided to name him Howie.…

We had a nice walk yesterday, but it was still too cold. The harness is working out well, so I will try and go out with him more during the week-although it is just too cold to enjoy a leisurely walk in the early evening.
We did have a very good weekend and played quite a lot all over the house. I am glad to see him settling in so well. He seems to be getting the idea that he can't get anything over on R, any more then he can with me or my mother. He is behaving very well when left…

Well, yesterday I packed up Dally and all her gear into my truck, and we headed up to Milford, Ohio, for our first-ever agility trial. This was a CPE (Canine Performance Events: www.k9cpe.com) trial, which was a little more laid back than AKC trials, and offers different "games" classes. However, we entered only the Standard, which is much like the Standard in AKC, but we were in Level 1, which does not have the teeter-totter or the weave poles. After a long wait, I started getting nervous…

Been reading a little about training my dog... maybe a lot. Read pretty much all of "Dog Training for Dummies" except where it got into training for shows. No where near ready for that at this point. Archie is the smartest dog ever and I really do blame myself for his current behavior. I had a hard time where I was at in my life and I did neglect him quite a bit. I think this led to his current state of aggression. He's fine with people he's met before but on walks, it's horrid. He tries to…

Today is Paul's and my two year anniversary and Miles decided to give me the best present.
During the day before he had been eyeing his bed as if he actually wanted to use it. He'd go over and take a toy next to it or lay riiiiight down next to it but never in it.
But last night at about 1 am Paul and I were up playing Mario Party 8 and I had noticed Miles was laying on the rug with his head on Paul's shoe. I remarked to Paul that it was Probably him telling us that he needed to go…

Buys week for everyone. Jake has his two week anniversary with us on Thursday. So far, he is doing just great! He has his moments...one thing we have noticed is that when he is allowed to sit on the sofa or the bed with my daughter he growls at her after a time. She immediately sends him off and says NO, I wonder if he is trying to be the alpha dog with her. He does not do it with either me or my my mother.
He has gotten a bunch of new toys and plays with them quite vigorously!…

Hello everyone! I just knew there had to be a place on the internet to blog about corgi's! I have a myspace but wanted to find folks who loved these amazing dogs as much as I do!
I'll work on getting photos and videos uploaded. I'm excited to look at pictures of other corgi's....i have a fondness for the tri's but love any corgi. Not only are they the cutest dogs ever, their personality is amazing! Right now as I write, Miss Chloe is curled up on the couch beside me. She's my best…

So we Furminated Miles for the first time last night and of course I was there to document it. =)

It was a lot of fun, maybe not for Miles though haha at some times he really seemed to enjoy it.

and some times he was not too pleased with us

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?"
He braced himself for some serious fur removal…

We just got our furminator in the mail today! I'm so excited, I'm going to furminate the hell out of Miles tomorrow =). He and his daddy just moved into a cute little apartment in Los Angeles on Venice and the entire thing is hardwood. It makes it so much easier to clean but Miles hates sliding around. We got a bunch of rugs and even an adorable little doggie bed for him but he refuses to use it =(. I'm not sure why but I swear one day he'll learn to love it.

We are certainly the busiest Corgi in the world these days. Yesterday was spent running in circles with the various toys to hide, demolish or toss in the air. The ball no longer makes a sound....which is to be expected.
We also got a lecture on asking for permission to things-Jake picked up his water bowl and decided he wanted it closer to his bed. Of course, the water spilled on the floor. So, my mother gave him a lecture on needing to ASK for help with such things and the water…

Ginny is one week away from graduating from her puppy kindergarten class… They grow up so fast. Before I know it she’ll be dating, moving out and going to college. Well, maybe not. But I am trying to enjoy these sometimes trying puppy days because I know she’ll never be this cute and little-- again.
Anyways, I had to talk to her trainer a bit last night because she has been Little Miss Jealousy with me and other dogs. If I pick up poor old Abbie, Ginny goes bonkers! She starts…

Winnie is now going down stairs like a pro, even though two days ago all the cheese in the world coun't have bribed her. She continues to amuse me with all of her quirks and moods.
We got more snow last night, good packing kind, so Winnie chased snow balls around for 2 hours. i think she would have stayed out all night if we had let her. Dog loves her some snow.

Haha, we had a sleepover last night. Becca took Jake's crate into her room and they had a sleepover. He was rather puzzled at first, but I think he was happy to have company. And he snores apparently...
It was a busy day for him once again...he loves to empty his toy bin and select what he is going to play with that afteroon. Today he got up early as my mother is out for the morning. We are really not a morning Corgi...
I found this…

Daddy and mommy took me outside for a 10 mins walk last night! Over the weekend mom and dad bought me a dog collar. I dislike it and refused to move. I don't like the feeling with something surround my chubby neck! Daddy and mommy figured it out so they went to buy me a harness instead. This time I am happy. It's a beautiful maize and blue harness. After I wore it we practiced walking a few times at home, this time it did not feel that hurtful!! Daddy and mommy also praised me and gave me lots…
