Tomorrow will mark our first two weeks with our new rescue girl, Fern. She has really turned into a sweet little dog and fits in quite well. She is coming out of her shell. Fergie, our little girl that just turned one has decided that Fern is a terrific playmate and they wrestle on our walks. Water is Ferns weakness. She loves to FRAP through mud puddles. We have plenty of those since it seems to storm everyday. She comes home a muddy, but very happy…

After a hard night Kassie's back from the vet's and her surgery went well. Had to pick her up by myself, which was hard cuz I hate anything doctor related. Guess I think the Vet might want to update me on my shots too. The doctor tried to show me her stitches, but I had to tell her to put the dog down cuz I had to drive home, and I didn't know if they had smelling salts in the office. (Brit you know what I mean). It was fun. Kassie still hasn't eaten much, and I have to keep an eye on her…

Well, I get my corgi on Friday. He'll be 9 weeks old, couldn't wait any longer. I'll have 2 1/2 days to play with him and try to get him used to a new home. I have the crate, nice pad in it which I will take out so he won't pee on it and put it in when he is older. Have the gate, toys, treats, etc. Hope I have thought of everything. Anything else anyone else can think of that might ease the transition from doggy mommy to human mommy.

After several years of corgi-envy, my husband and I finally got one of our own! I've been a member of MyCorgi.com since last October, so some of the old-timers may remember me from a few months back. Since we were in a temporary apartment situation, we were waiting to get our puppy. In the meantime, I was showing off the other family corgis - my parents' dogs, Bingley and Lizzy, and my in-laws' puppy, Dylan. If you have the MyCorgi.com calendar,…

I've been contemplating the idea for a couple days. I think that my next tattoo will be a little corgi silhouette on my ankle. I love my dog and I don't think I ever want to own any other kind of dog and this would be a permanent proof of my corgi-love.
I understand that tattoos are permanent. I have one already so I know they hurt, lol. I just wonder what people think.
So, what do you think? A nice little corgi silhouette, with or without "real dogs don't have tails".

Lily is home with us now. She had a rough day at the vet's though. Sadly there were a lot of pet emergencies so they had to delay her surgery a few hours. Lily is really out of it with the pain meds and is sleeping right now. They told me to try some water, which she drank. Unfortunately she threw up all the water and a lot of bile too, so I am keeping a close eye on her. She weighed in at 13 pounds, so I am really pleased with that. I am so glad that she is home where I can take care of her.…

Well it's been two weeks since Griffey has come home to live with me and its been one of the most memorable times of my life. He is such a character, especially for such a young dog. Everybody has just fallen for the little guy already. My two roommates absolutely adore him and everyone who comes in contact with him instantly want to get their own corgi. He definitely is a lady killer.I never realized how much of a secret the Corgi breed is. I get asked at least 2-3 times a day what type of dog…

I'm sorry, I know it seems like I'm always complaining, but it is SO hot here in New York. We're having a heat wave, and Mom and Dad don't have air conditioning, so I'm really hot. Mom furminated me, and that helped, but mostly I just want to lay around. My cooling bandana from last year died, so Mom ordered me a new one, but it won't be here for a few days. Oh, I am so hot....

Risa is making me happy with his at last solid poops. His stool has been normal for 2 days now and I plan to start adding his old food to the recent chicken+rice diet tomorrow. His ears are still down, but he's not losing weight anymore. Today, we made a trip on a leash to the nearby castle and we really enjoyed it. Hopefully, Risa will be OK now.

Lily is being spayed today. My husband just took her to the vet. She stayed inside last night since she could not eat or drink. We gave her a bath last night and let me tell you, that was an experience! She was not happy at all, but she did not struggle too bad. The collar we have for her is causing some redness so I am looking for another collar today while she is at the vet. She slept wonderfully last night. She did not make a sound at all until my husband got up and she saw him. I think the…

After so much anticipation I could barely handle it... Mikko has finally come home!! We picked him up yesterday after a 4.5 hour drive to the heart of Wisconsin, and I had butterflies the whole way there... wondering how he had changed since last time we saw him, if he would "like" me, whether he would bark the whole way or puke in the car on the long ride home... Well, all my fears were silly ~ he is gorgeous, healthy, rolly-polly, and so sweet! I loved him instantly! He has grown so much, but…

Okay so Kassie gets spayed tomorrow! The vet wants her to stay over night and I'm worried. I know she'll be fine, but I hate that she's going to be without us for so long and hurt and with all those dogs barking....wahhhh...

Well, at least not yet! Hi, it's me, Sidney the Corgi. I haven't written in awhile becasue I've been really busy with doggie school. Sometimes I have good days and Mom tells me how smart I am, and sometimes I'm a real brat! My teacher says I'm not ready for Canine Good Citizen class yet, darn it! That's OK, I'm still a young pup, so I can wait.
It was so beautiful here in Southern California this weekend, so the two old dogs and me got a trip to the park. It's a big wild place full…

I've been so busy with Penelope I haven't had much time to update on her! I hope to get some more picutres up this afternoon of her that have been held hostage on my camera! However, at 14 weeks she's adjusted pretty well I'd say. She is just being a silly puppy. Sometimes she is super sweet and sometimes she is kind of a bully. I know many of you have offered help on her pretty bad biting and I appreciate it, but nothing works very long except to just get away from it. Some days she is really…

Early Saturday morning Roscoe and I headed to Arbor Hills Nature Reserve for a walk. The nature reserve has several walking tracks, and creeks and such; the area makes for a great walk/bike, and you can bring your dog as well. Morning is pretty much the only tolerable time to get most outdoor activity done, the heat is making it more uncomfortable as summer goes along. The place had a good amount of people, but it wasn't terrible crowded. Roscoe did well on the walk, and he spent some time in a…

Skittles and I were moving back to Houston when we stopped in Refugio, TX (I think Nolan Ryan was born there...) to get gas. What do I see but two corgi owners with their cardis! I hopped out of my car and ran to meet their doggies. Adorable little scamps! The larger one was a tri, and the smaller one was a blue merle; both as friendly as could be! Their owner was feeding them fries. I went back to my car and brought back Skittles. The cardis weren't having it...they were fry-possessive, and…

Yesterday while I was out walking with Leon some f*ing asshat's dog, who he either didn't bother to put a lead on or took off when he was out of the actual apartment complex, ran up and tried to attack him. It was a very scary experience for the both of us and was horribly angering for James when I got Leon back home. What made it so angering was the fact that the entire thing could have been prevented. We are in an apartment complex and have no areas around where a dog's lead could or should…

Our yard is like any other yard, but not in Yogi's eyes. A few huge trees in the front yard and wide open space in the back. Theres are a few flower gardens and a small vegetable garden that's completely fenced in from the wildlife that patrol at nite, but also came in handy to keep Yogi away. Each potty visit outside becomes Yogi's mischief hour. If he's not trying to eat mulch and my hostas or hide beneath the hugh japanese maple, he's probably sniffing a spot that's about the get…
