Tegan the Navigator

Our first summer with Tegan has been great! She has been kayaking in Prescott, AZ and camping on the Mogollon Rim. She is our little bundle of joy and sometimes trouble :)

Sidney's FHO Journey, update

Today we took Sidney back to Veterinary Surgical Specialists in Kearney Mesa for his 2-week post surgery appointment and to have his sutures taken out.

His fur is already growing back, so it was a bit of a challenge for the tech to find all the sutures! Sidney was really good and didn't complain about that. However, when the vet tried to show us how to extend his leg back, Sidney reacted badly to that! I said…

update on Queenie

first i would like to say thank you to everyone who has replied. your warm wishes and info has been very helpful. i did get the call from the vet today saying queenie will be released to come home this evening, but that she will probably have to go back tomorrow for more fluids. they also ran another enzyme test on her today. if levels have dropped we may not have to bring her back. the cause of all this was due to a quarter sized piece of hamsteak i gave her monday night. trust me i feel…

Update on "worried sick"!

First I want to thank everyone for their corgi prayers and advice! Vet visit went really well and he seems to think it is a reaction to her last round of vaccinations. But since her attitude and personality are completely normal he said there is nothing to worry about as the lump is not attached to the body wall. Once again, THANKS EVERYONE!!!!!!!

Finally!! a Diagnosis for Katie!! Yeah!

Well, after a friends suggestion, I decided to take Kate to another vet to see what is wrong with her back legs. It took the vet all of 5 mins to tell me, Kate has Luxated Patella, and she has strained her back because of it.

I was actually tearing up at the vets i was so relieved.

She wont need surgery, and she will probably live a long and happy life, and probably wont need a wheelchair. I am so glad I pursued this and found the problem.

But she will have limited…

Pancreatitis in Corgi's

Hello,

Queenie has now been at the vet's 2 nights too many. I brought her in a couple nights ago because she was acting very depressed. We finally came to find out she has pancreatitis. Is this common with Corgi's? Has anyone else ever experienced this with their baby (ies)? Any info would be great. THANKS!

Queen eats very good. Blue Buffalo food and treats. Every now and then maybe a bite of people food. Never again though.

Worried Sick!!!

Ok, so last friday I was on the floor again playing with all the dogs...I usually lay on the floor and its a Corgi pile time! But anyhow I was petting Lilly and felt a lump under her skin. Its on her right side, bout 2 inches down from her spine on her ribs. I can move it around like a little marble, and it doesnt seem to hurt her. Ein, my daughters corgi, had a fatty tumor when he was a puppy, and I guess they are pretty common in puppies. I have a thursday appt with my vet just to make…

We just cant wait until this chewing stage is over. :) I found some local agility classes and I think we are going to give them a try. She has our petsitter so fooled at her noon visit. Thank goodnees the Petsitter is my Aunt! My husband and son have decided that officially she is my dog while our other dog Kami (a terrier mix) is theirs! HAHA!! What a scare!

We have noticed Bucher being lethargic for about a week, but when he stopped begging or wanting his breakfast I really got scared! We took him to the vet yesterday and he had a 104 fever. They did a blood test for lyme disease and it showed negative. After we stood and talked with the vet for a while; he looked at the test over again and a positive came up for Anaplasma Phagocytophilum. It is from a deer tick and mimics the signs of lymes. He is on… Continue

His bad behaviors are getting worse... :(

For the past few months now, Odie has taken interest in cars, motorcycles, other dogs, etc. while we are on our walks (he gets 2 walks per day). It has gotten to the point where we have to drive him somewhere, where we know there will be no cars driving by and no other distractions... because he barks LOUDLY and pulls HARD on his leash. I have a harness that I use, for my own peace of mind, to pull him out of harms way... I have tried just about everything I have read about... but there is…

Spay

Hey!
Lily is going to be spayed tomorrow....poor baby !
I'm worried about her running around and opening the stitches, she loves to play with Jimmy, our Basset Hound. As you know basset are short but heavy....
I know...her crate will be the best place to keep her in, but will she feel comfortable in there using the "cone" ?Should I keep it in her during the night?

Red Bud Isle is my new favorite place to bring the pups!

I've been taking the dogs to Red Bud Isle dog park and it's my new favorite place to go with them! Its a very small island that's been made into an off-leash dog park and the dogs absolutely LOVE it!

There's a grassy area in the middle and a big trail around the outside but most of it is lots of trees that the dogs like to explore in. Today it had just rained so…

Looking for Corgi owners in Hudson valley area

I know there was a group for this but even though I joined there has not been any activity in a year. Are any of you members in the Hudson Valley, Dutchess County or Ulster, Orange County NY? Sure would be nice for Pearl to have some playmates!

Need some real advice on bladder stones.

So we've spent nearly 700 dollars on the vet so far and we're both near the end of our ropes in terms of knowing what we're supposed to do with our puppy. Apollo just isn't getting any better. We've had to completely give up on potty training and drop out out of puppy classes all together now because of this problem. We took him in for another vet visit today and now the vet thinks instead of a simple bladder infection he has urinary calculi but apparently now instead of the crystals being… Continue

Bunnies poop !!

Lily is eating bunnies poop !!!
I don't know how to handle with this , because she use the grass as her "bathroom" . I've tried to make her use the patio area , cause there I can see the "bunnie's poop" and keep her away from it.
It's the fourth time that she is under medication for diarrhea .Any suggestions?

It's getting close to Halloween!!

My favorite time of the year, FALL!! All the fun holidays are quickly approaching :) The costumes for the kids are all picked out. My little boy is going to be a Dragon... partly because it was such a cute costume & partly because that's his nickname- Dragon! He tends to sound like a Dragon when he's congested... ANYWHO... since he's going to be a Dragon, I felt it fit for my little girl, Lola, to be a Princess (she already thinks she is anyway!). So instead of spending a bunch of $$$ on a… Continue

Oh you silly girl!

I haven't updated in a while but I just couldn't stop giggling at this one.

Took Roxi to figure out what exactly she was allergic to (finally) and a REALLY expensive trip later, learning she's allergic to pretty much the world + cotton! I had the funniest drunk acting dog stumbling to the car.

A few weeks ago I had the same thing from Charlie after getting his teeth cleaned + fatty lump removed.

I can't help but find it so hilarious when they leave like that. Cute… Continue

I'M SICK OF THIS!!

I am really close to taking baloo's manhood away if it will stop him from being such a brat!! He chews up everything that he can reach even though he has all the rawhides and dog toys he needs, he jumps a barks like mad when a visitor comes and i'm afraid he's going to knock someone over like a kid or an elderly person. I don't know what to do.
