Well, we've made arrangements with Barb of Evanwhit, and two Fridays from now, Ani will be coming home with us. (We're going to call her ~Anathema Device after the character from Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's book Good Omens, but Ani will be her short name.)
Naturally we've been reading up on all the things we're supposed to do and get, like puppy proofing the house, how to house break a puppy, the vaccinations, the license, the food, the kennel, the shampoos, the leads…

Just rescued/adopted 2 wonderful pembrokes - the momma is turning 4 and has some serious lower back/rump injuries...the previous owner did finally take her to a vet and they removed lots of dead skin due to infection and maggots (YUCK)...my vet is now doing cold lazer therapy and I swear after 1 treatment her skin/sores look so much better. I am to do water therapy at home with flushes of warm water 5…

I cannot stand for my dogs to have eye boogers, it seriously drives me crazy!
Today, I'm getting some eye boogers off of Bear and of course I poke him right in the eye.
Here's to tonight's prayers that I didn't do any damage. :(
He seems fine right now, but I'll feel better once I check him in the morning and see nothing.
Usually they clean them off of each other, which I greatly appreciate, but Goldy seems to have been…

Hi,
Sorry been gone a good while, been busy with a 10 week old fur ball. It's not a corgi so don't know whom will reply if any however the good news.
Jazmin and Tala ( The new puppy) get along beautifully, actually better then I'd ever dreamed of. I think Jazmin has taken on the puppy as her own. They spend endless hours chewing on each other and of course is the transitive learning as well . Jazmin loves the interaction and the play only as a dog can provide, finally I've a…

I recently adopted a 6 year old Male CWC. Recently, he will walk over to a peice of carpet I have in the kitchen and scratch at it. He won't lay down after, so it does'nt seem like he is fluffing the carpet. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

Well, it has been a very busy Mother's Day weekend. Saturday was a Mother's Day barbecue at my sister's house with about 20 people including 5 children. Therefore, Bailey was left at home (crated) for the afternoon. I am a highly overprotective corgi daddy. Not only do I want a group kids ranging from 3 to 9 trampling my dog (the younger bunch become oblivious to the squatty puppy under their feet) but I also want to avoid the kids getting scratched or nipped by a playful corgi puppy who…

So I was running late for an important meeting and HAD to get in the shower. I always crate Johann when I'm in the shower- but I just didn't have time. He was sitting in the hall chewing on a toy or shoe... It didn't matter to me I just had to get going.
About seven minutes later, I emerged from the bathroom and he was gone. Not in the hall. I ran downstairs thinking he may be in the kitchen trying to get to the cat food. Not there either. The doors were locked- he…

So we called up Barb Evans of Evanwhit and arranged to see the last puppy of Jenny's litter. (Here's a neat tidbit: Puppies were born the day after my birthday! How awesome is that.) Anyway, the little girl is an absolute sweetheart and of course, John just fell in love with her right away. We couldn't make any promises right then and there though, because part of this expedition was to see how my allergies handled it.
The good news is that my lungs handled it like champions.…

On Friday the 13th, we will be picking up Baxter's true little brother, Ziggy, from the breeder. I can't really describe how excited I am-- not only will there be an oh-so-adorable corgi puppy in the house, but for Baxter to have a playmate. At the same time, I am also nervous as to how this will change our "pack" and if it will make Baxter unhappy to have another dog around. However, I will finally have a pair of corgis which somehow makes my life feel just a little more…

It is 8:00 a.m. Twelve hours have passed since I published my first blog and I have received 9 comments and 1 official "like" so I am inspired to continue. First, let me send a big thank you out to all of you who have have taken a bit of time out of your day to read the ramblings of some 35-year-old corgi owner who has nothing better to do that write a blog about his new pup and their life together. Thank you for reading, commenting, and just being the kind people that you…

Ok, this is my first time writing a blog. Hell, this is my first time writing anything diary-like in my life. Who knows if anyone will read this but I am feeling bored waiting for American Idol to start so I figured I would write about Bailey for a bit.
If you have found this blog and are reading it, it means that you have seen my profile page and already know that my partner and I adopted Bailey, our PWC, on March 19, 2011. He was born on January 1, 2011 so he was 11…

Well, yesterday late afternoon Tucker and I were playing and it got a little bit rough, so we were stopped from playing and both went and laid down to rest. When I, (Lance) went to get up, I didn't put any weight on my front right paw and then immediately laid down and rolled over on my back looking at Mom wit those sad eyes.
Hoping that the limp goes away and I will soon be able to do all the fun things again like walking, and playing. It is getting pretty boring just…

When Ponyo was rescued from an animal hoarder, where she had been free fed and also given table scraps, she weighed 27lbs, which on her tiny frame was quite fat. The vet that her rescuers took her to determined that since she's actually a bit of a runt she should be around 20lbs. When she was delivered to us a couple weeks ago, she had lost about 3lbs. According to my oh-so-scientific method of holding her while standing on my bathroom scale, she is now at 20lbs(I'll refrain from letting you…

We have had Ralphy for one week. He is very timid in the house still. He loves to just lay on his costco bed. We try to get him to play but he won't. He does not come when we call him often. He loves to cuddle and have his belly rubbed. He was not a good walker at first. He would walk a bit then sit on lay down on walks. We have been walking twice a day and with other dogs so he has gotten better and will go for…
